THIS WEEK’S OVERVIEW: The Sun entered Leo [the sign it rules] on Thursday, July 23, and will travel through Leo until August 22. Happy Birthday to all the Leos!! As a fixed Fire sign, Leo is creative and passionate, with a sunny personality, showing strength and bravery in leadership. Leo rules the 5^th House of creativity, pleasure, good fortune, risk-taking and children. The Sun shines its brightest in Leo, and as such, Sun in Leo aspects take the lead this week. Check your natal chart to see in which House your natal Leo is placed.

ONGOING

·       Neptune in Aries sextile Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. These two planets have been dancing near one another since the beginning of May. On July 2, their aspect became exact and will continue to be exact until mid-August. Pluto in Aquarius is innovative, and retrograde indicates reinvention or a rebirth. The connection with Neptune provides a gentle blending between spiritual and psychological healing.

·       July numerology: this is an ‘eight’ month in a ‘one’ year. Remember, a ‘one’ year represents new beginnings and fresh starts. ‘Eight’ indicates ambition and prosperity. An eight turned sideways is the infinity symbol, signifying all things are possible.

SUNDAY

·       Saturn turns retrograde at 14° Aries and continues to be retrograde until December 10, providing an interval of reviewing personal accountability, reassessing long-term goals, and revising as necessary. This is a long period of looking inward at several aspects of your life and determining if you feel you’re on the right track or need to pivot.

·       Sun in Leo sextile Uranus in Gemini adds a little sparkle to life and provides encouragement to implement new habits.

·       North Node moves into Aquarius while South Node moves into Leo. This represents a shift from personal expression to focus on the larger community/society/family.

MONDAY

·       Sun in Leo trine Neptune retrograde in Aries. Sit back, relax and enjoy. Your imagination is strong but avoid overindulging. Your dreams may speak loudly; write them down to review and interpret. This can apply to your daydreams as well.

·       Sun in Leo opposite Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. Someone may be challenging you. Listen to your intuition and decide what path forward would respect all involved.

WEDNESDAY

·       Jupiter Cazimi the Sun at 6° Leo during Full Moon in Aquarius. Cazimi meaning the “heart of the Sun”, Jupiter will be in exact conjunction with the Sun [bringing optimism and enthusiasm to the day] during exact opposition to the Moon in Aquarius [creating an imbalance between your emotions and your ego]. You may tend toward indulgence; hold onto your hats; it may be a bumpy ride!

SATURDAY

·       August is a 9-month in a 1-year. This month is the time to clear out the emotional baggage, the old patterns from childhood that no longer serve you. As my quote for this week reminds us, our past does not define who we are today. We’ve grown, evolved, and learned from a multitude of experiences throughout our lives. What burdens can you remove so that you are lighter and ready to move into September, a 1-month of new beginnings?

In considering all these planetary aspects, more is revealed when you are aware of which houses these aspects present themselves in your natal chart and the other transits affecting in your natal chart.

TAROT

I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck. For the Collective card, an overview for all, I am using the Divine Angels Oracle deck. As I was completing my astrology portion of this blog, I was visited by two women from JW who shared a memo from their church: “Can we enjoy life forever?” I felt this message was delivered to me at precisely that moment for a reason. So, as I drew cards, I pondered that question.

·                 Collective card: New Beginnings

“You’re ready to start a new chapter of your life. Be open to meeting new people.” This aligns so well with the Sun aspects this week and the 8-month numerology. Dream big, make plans, and wrap up loose ends [physically and mentally] throughout August.

·                  ARIES [the Ram]: The Moon 

The Moon represents the unknown. During this week, you will likely feel your intuition is stronger, dreams are deeper, and your imagination/creativity is blooming. You may find yourself withdrawing from the chaos to spend some alone time with your spiritual thoughts.

·                  TAURUS [the Bull]: Seven of Pentacles

Patience is key this week. The 7 of Pentacles is influenced by Saturn in Taurus, and encourages grounded responsibility, which usually requires a large amount of patience. Sevens are spiritually attuned, being 3 + 4, the Holy Trinity and material practicality.

·                  GEMINI [the Twins]: King of Wands

Wands indicate a strong work period, and being the King denotes passion toward a project. So, have some fun with that work task; put your full attention to detail and your enthusiasm into it. With Uranus in Gemini, sudden social opportunities may come into play.

·                  CANCER [the Crab]: The Star

While this Full Moon in Aquarius may be a roller coaster to many, Aquarius influences The Star card, bringing Cancer a sense of inner calm and confidence. You will likely feel positive creative energy flowing and start a new project or pick up an old project to complete.

·                  LEO [the Lion]: The Tower

So many aspects this week involve the Sun in Leo, and at some point, will be conjunct your natal Sun, providing a wave of energy. The Tower is often called the House of God, a time of enlightenment and recognizing a need for change away from bad habits and long-held beliefs that no longer serve you.

·                  VIRGO [the Virgin]: The Lovers

Although this card can certainly propose a new romantic relationship, it also invites significant connections to family and close friends. The Lovers card emphasizes the importance of love in a person’s life from many directions. Perhaps part of “enjoying life forever” includes keeping love in your heart in all instances.

·                  LIBRA [the Scales]: Queen of Wands

The Queen of Wands encourages Librans to sincerely appreciate what life has provided thus far, stay calm and balanced, and share that appreciation with others in a “pay-it-forward” manner. Your confidence and sincerity will be there to help as always.

·                  SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: The Devil

Scorpios have a normally intense quality about themselves, and The Devil card deepens that intensity. Be mindful of materialistic or sensual tendencies overpowering your judgment and tempting you to overindulge, particularly during the Full Moon.

·                  SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: Six of Pentacles

You are likely feeling generous this week [perhaps overly so] due to Jupiter ruling your sign and being conjunct the Sun during this Full Moon. Be conscious of the spirit of your gesture. Are you doing it to make you feel good about yourself or are you truly providing support because it’s needed?

·                  CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: Ten of Swords

In numerology, tens are special numbers that represent “allness” or the entire cycle of experience; with Swords indicating the completion of a cycle. If you feel you’re treading water and getting nowhere, that’s because your Capricorn ambition has gotten in the way. Things are not as bad as they seem, and your optimistic energy will return soon.

·                  AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: Four of Cups

The Moon in Aquarius this week causes some upheaval. You are likely a little detached, perhaps comparing yourself to others and unsure if your expectations are too high. However, Pluto retrograde in Aquarius and this card are encouraging you to rise from the ashes, have hope, and keep an open mind. Look inward; reevaluate as needed.

·                  PISCES [the Fish]: The Fool

Oh, my! This is significant! The Fool card was also drawn last week for Pisces. Perhaps the Collective Card was speaking particularly to Pisces and wanted to make sure you heard by giving you The Fool card again. I repeat from last week: “The Fool is anything but foolish. The card represents adventure, urging you to break from the routine and do something for sheer enjoyment. Life does not need to be rigid. If you feel like swimming upstream for awhile, go ahead. You can always stop and float back on the current.” You CAN enjoy life forever – if you will just allow it to happen!
