An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus the Tarot. Please remember that astrology aspects are not predictions but merely signposts to help understand the astral influences that may affect you.

ONGOING

·       Neptune in Aries sextile Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. These two planets have been dancing near one another since the beginning of May. On July 2, their aspect became exact and will continue to be exact until mid-August. Pluto in Aquarius is innovative, and retrograde indicates reinvention or a rebirth. The connection with Neptune provides a blending between spiritual and psychological healing.

·       July numerology: this is an ‘eight’ month in a ‘one’ year. Remember, a ‘one’ year represents new beginnings and fresh starts. ‘Eight’ indicates ambition and prosperity. An eight turned sideways is the infinity symbol, signifying all things are possible.

SUNDAY

·       Mercury retrograde is Cazimi [in the heart of] the Sun at 20° Cancer. A Cazimi is a very empowering position. Normally, Mercury being retrograde would indicate slowing down, taking time to be more precise. However, in a Cazimi, the reverse would be true; it’s very energizing and brings clarity. With this Cazimi, transformation and deep personal revelations are on the horizon, particularly with home and family [Cancer’s influence] through Tuesday.

MONDAY

·       Venus in Virgo square Uranus in Gemini until Wednesday. Since Venus does not enjoy its time in Virgo and Uranus brings unpredictable situations, expect some interesting person or situation to throw a wrench in the productivity of the day. This aspect creates tension. Best bet is to go with the flow. Be flexible to keep positive connections going.

TUESDAY

·       New Moon at 21° Cancer. A new moon conjures fresh starts, beginning new projects, new developments or new people into your life. Being in Cancer, the focus of these new relationships will focus on home, family, nurturance, security, and intuition. Whatever new plan is seeded during this time, its development will be apparent around April 13, 2027 during the First Quarter Moon at 23° Cancer.

THURSDAY

·       Uranus in Gemini sextile Neptune in Aries joins the party of the ongoing sextile between Neptune and Pluto, bringing creativity to the forefront until the end of the month. Remembering this is an “8” month and the New Moon is shining on us, get in tune with yourself and the world. Enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds you and consider the rest of the month as a time to recharge.

SATURDAY

·       Jupiter in Leo sextile Uranus in Gemini. Jupiter joins the aspects to encourage new opportunities during this New Moon period. Take a break from your normal routine and listen to your intuition that is sharper than usual. That’s the Cancer vibe sneaking in.

TAROT

I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck. For the Collective card, an overview for all, I am using the Divine Dog Wisdom Oracle deck by Randy Crutcher & Barb Horn.

·       Collective card: Boredom

This card questions whether you’ve been experiencing boredom or if you’ve been so busy with increasing daily tasks that boredom seems preposterous. Webster’s definition of boredom: “the state of being weary and restless through lack of interest.” Sometimes we stay so active with the mundane that we fool ourselves into thinking we can’t possibly be bored. The truth is that experiencing “boredom” can really be another way of signaling it’s time to take a rest from the daily grind. Are you spinning your wheels? Take the opportunity this week to do something genuinely fun just for the sake of having fun. If that means sitting quietly reading a book or skydiving, that part is up to you.

·                  ARIES [the Ram]: Six of Pentacles

Generosity and affection are the keys to feeling prosperous this week. With Saturn and Neptune still hanging out in Aries, it would be easy to suffer from responsible Saturn pulling one direction and dreamy Neptune pulling the other, seeking fun and entertainment. Put your kindness and compassion first in dealing with the mundane, and then relax, knowing you’ve done your best.

·                  TAURUS [the Bull]: Eight of Wands

Eights represent ambition. Keep in mind we’re in an 8-month, where all things are possible, and Wands denote creativity in your work time. Projects perceived to be arduous and long term are likely to move along easily because of your creative input. Don’t hesitate to speak up. It will save time.

·                  GEMINI [the Twins]: Nine of Cups

Uranus pushes for change, often unexpected, but also speaks to humanitarianism. In Gemini, communicating needs/desires is at the forefront. This card encourages thinking beyond the ordinary and reaching for what may seem unattainable. You never know until you try.

·                  CANCER [the Crab]: Ace of Pentacles and King of Wands

In this case, two cards pulled out together; so it was meant to be. The Ace signifies doing something different jobwise as a prospective source of income. The King indicates a strong passion and a need to move forward. Between the two cards, what endeavor have you considered but the Cancer energy implied caution? Now looks like a good time to reopen that train of thought and act on it.

·                  LEO [the Lion]: Eight of Swords

With expansive Jupiter currently in Leo, the Eight of Swords implies a need for enlightenment. Life has been hectic and stressful, not allowing time for pause and reflection. This would be a good week to connect with your Greater Spirit through meditation/prayer and express your gratitude for the abundance in your life.

·                  VIRGO [the Virgin]: Five of Cups

Fives in general represent adventure, sometimes seen as conflict. With Venus in Virgo [where it doesn’t particularly like to be], you may be feeling somewhat out of sorts. Expectations have not turned out as proposed. If it feels more like conflict than adventure, pause and know that this too shall pass. Brighter days are ahead.

·                  LIBRA [the Scales]: Judgement

This card aligns beautifully with the continuing Neptune sextile Pluto aspect and the New Moon this week. The Judgement card suggests lightening your load, a rebirth, and coming to terms with the past to move forward. Since Librans enjoy balance and order, this is a perfect time to make some assessments/adjustments to get back in equilibrium.

·                  SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: Page of Cups

The connection here is clear as Cups represent water and Scorpio is a water sign. The Page reminds you to allow your imagination to flow this week as you provide graciousness and kindness to those near you who need it most. You may find your emotions are filled with love.

·                  SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: King of Cups [reversed]

A card in reverse does not indicate the opposite of the card but a challenge to consider. The King of Cups is diplomatic and responsible. Success and achievement are important. While the King usually hides his emotions, the reversal indicates that because feelings may be on edge, a situation likely will be handled with less sensitivity. Take a deep breath before snapping at someone you care about.

·                  CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: Queen of Wands [reversed]

A card in reverse does not indicate the opposite of the card but a challenge to consider. The Queen of Wands is confident, honest, and sincere. However, a recent event has caused confidence to falter. Recall this week’s several aspects that indicate new beginnings and forward movement; and know that this is just a blip in the road.

·                  AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune is influenced by expansive Jupiter, who is currently in creative and passionate Leo. The card suggests that this week is a time to assess where life has gone and is going in the future. It’s a time for spiritual enlightenment. Remember, the wheel turns; everything evolves. Decide where and how you want it to roll.

·                  PISCES [the Fish]: The Star

This is one of the happiest cards in the Tarot. Its energy provides a sense of inner calm and confidence that life will continue to supply positivity and hope. The creative juices are freely flowing. Meet this with gratitude.
