in astrology, that is all that matters.” Steven Forrest, astrologer
An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus the Tarot. Please remember that astrology aspects are not predictions but merely signposts to help understand the astral influences that may affect you.
ONGOING
· Neptune in Aries sextile Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. These two planets have been dancing near one another since the beginning of May. Last Thursday, July 2, their aspect became exact and will continue to be exact until mid-August. Pluto in Aquarius is innovative, and retrograde indicates reinvention or a rebirth. The connection with Neptune provides a blending between spiritual and psychological healing.
· July numerology: this is an ‘eight’ month in a ‘one’ year. Remember, a ‘one’ year represents new beginnings and fresh starts. ‘Eight’ indicates ambition and prosperity. An eight turned sideways is the infinity symbol, signifying all things are possible.
SUNDAY
· Mars in Gemini trine Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. Even though you recognize an issue to be resolved in your family or close sphere of friends, you have felt you could do nothing about it. However, this Mars energy provides the necessary drive for you to help this situation. Listen to the needs of others as well as your own intuition. You will find a solution.
· Mars conjunct Uranus in Gemini. Mars’ strong energy requires some self-discipline to keep from getting carried away with enthusiasm.
· Mars sextile Neptune in Aries. Your empathy vibes are strong. You may feel the need to volunteer to help someone. Intuition is also strong to help identify what’s most needed. This aligns with the trine Pluto aspect.
· Jupiter in Leo square Chiron in Taurus throughout the week. This aspect tends to bring up questions about the meaning of life, encouraging taking time to pause and ponder. Developing a weekly [or even daily] routine of meditation/prayer and/or yoga is always helpful.
MONDAY
· Sun in Cancer square Saturn in Aries. Insecure feelings and lack of self-confidence may intrude the next couple of days or may have hit a few days earlier. Just know that this will pass. This is another place where meditation/prayer/yoga would help.
TUESDAY
· Neptune in Aries turns retrograde. Neptune energy generally rules fanciful idealism and the spiritual world. It doesn’t concern itself with the physical world. When in retrograde, it turns its attention to personal health of not only the body, but particularly the mind. It urges dissolving those negative thought patterns that you no longer need. You’re given a wide berth [until early December when it turns back direct] to seriously focus on the positivity in your life and make some mental changes.
· Last Quarter Moon at 15° Aries. This is a time of healing [maybe start thinking about that Neptune in Aries retrograde phase], using that Mars energy to wrap up small projects, and rest a bit as you prepare for the start of a new period with the New Moon next week.
THURSDAY
· Venus enters Virgo until August 7. Light-hearted, creative Venus does not enjoy being in precise, practical Virgo. Depending on any aspects in your natal chart that align with transiting Venus will determine how much this will affect you. [For example, for me today, Venus is conjunct my natal Sun, which is joyful.] So, if you start feeling you’re spinning your wheels and getting nowhere, it could easily be a limiting aspect of this Venus transit.
FRIDAY – Venus continues its influence:
· Venus trine Chiron in Taurus for a day. With Taurus being ruled by Venus, any adverse energy from Venus is likely to become relaxed and more receptive. A good time to focus on physical health, especially digestion.
· Venus in opposition to the transiting North Node in Pisces until Sunday. Spontaneous creativity may be the order of the day, letting go of the practical and precision, and allowing your intuitive side to reign. Dance to the music!
· Chiron in Taurus sextile the transiting North Node in Pisces until July 28. You may find yourself questioning materialism or appreciating the abundance in your material life. Either way, this aspect is about your relationship with material values.
SUNDAY, JULY 12
· Mercury retrograde is Cazimi [in the heart of] the Sun at 20° Cancer. A Cazimi is a very empowering position. Normally, Mercury being retrograde would indicate slowing down, taking time to be more precise. However, in a Cazimi, the reverse would be true; it’s very energizing. Comparing the aspects to your natal chart will reveal where this strong energy will affect you. If you’re not sure, feel free to contact me and I can help you.
In considering all these planetary aspects, more is revealed when you are aware of which houses these aspects present themselves in your natal chart and the other transits affecting your natal chart.

TAROT
I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck. For the Collective card, an overview for all, I am using the Medicine Card deck by Jamie Sams.
· Collective card: Dragonfly
The Dragonfly represents change and enlightenment. The legend is that Dragonfly was once a dragon who was very wise and knew magic; however, Coyote tricked Dragon into showing how he could change his body and, thus, became stuck in the shape of Dragonfly. This card encourages you to release habits that are no longer beneficial and be grateful for those that sustain your mental and physical health. This parallels many of the aspects in this week’s astrology.
Interestingly, I drew all four of the “Six” cards. In numerology, a six represents affection and stability. It seems the cards are suggesting to the collective that, in all things, remember and show gratitude for those we care about most and the abundance in our lives, suggesting that is the highlight to focus on in the astrology this week.
· ARIES [the Ram]: Six of Wands
This card is guided by Jupiter in Leo, which happens to be where Jupiter is currently. Your energy is completely balanced and beneficial toward whatever projects/tasks you approach this week. You are likely to be less affected by low energy levels from the astrology aspects.
· TAURUS [the Bull]: Ace of Wands
With Chiron in Taurus, the healing energy is tugging you to do something out of your daily routine. It’s healthy to occasionally overlook the norm and take a little risk. Perhaps start a new program of study, read a book from a genre you normally would not, or attend an event out of your comfort zone. Life is an adventure, not an ordeal.
· GEMINI [the Twins]: Two of Cups
“Twos” represent a duality and so does Gemini. A relationship balance providing harmony among the usual chaos is joyous energy this week for Geminis. There is even the possibility of a new friendship finding stronger footing to build a lasting alliance.
· CANCER [the Crab]: Three of Swords
While memories of lost loves or close friendships can cause new grief, avoid allowing that to overwhelm. Acceptance and recognition of the joy of those moments can turn pain into a pleasant remembrance. Feel blessed for the opportunity to have experienced such caring.
· LEO [the Lion]: Six of Swords
You are likely to take a new perspective on an issue you’ve been dealing with simply because you’ve been receiving mixed messages, not from deceit but misguidance. Consider what seems to be off-course. Worrying is not helpful; shift your thinking to a more neutral stance and rely on your intuition until you find your balance and direction.
· VIRGO [the Virgin]: King of Swords
You are analytical and practical. This card signifies clarity and wisdom, compelling you to recognize the truth of a current situation. Trust your gut. Avoid being humored into accepting less than what you deem as socially just.
· LIBRA [the Scales]: Six of Pentacles
This card indicates you’re experiencing occasions of relating easily to others yet holding back on your own feelings. Your generous spirit is much needed; however, share a little of that nurturance with your inner child because you deserve it as well. Spiritual wonder abounds.
· SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: King of Wands
Last week ended with a national celebration. Continue that theme this week; get out and have fun just because you can, and bring along those you care about most. An active body nourishes the mind.
· SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: Six of Cups
The range of energy this week may leave you feeling nostalgic, thinking with warm memories of those who have guided you through your life. Relish those moments and show gratitude. More significantly, pay it forward by guiding others who are going down a similar path as you once did.
· CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: Queen of Wands
The Queen of Wands supports passion, confidence, and a sincere appreciation for life in general. There is much positive energy flowing this week to pursue with self-confidence a project you’ve recently started or have been contemplating. Full steam ahead!
· AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: Strength
With Pluto in retrograde currently, the Strength card acts as a gentle persuasion to persevere some difficult situation with hope and eagerness. Avoid giving up before the miracle happens. If necessary, “borrow” some of the strength of this card to help see you through.
· PISCES [the Fish]: The Moon
The North Node, which influences individual destiny, is currently in intuitive and spiritual Pisces. The Moon card is influenced by Pisces energy. The combination of these energies, along with the astrological energy for this week, suggests letting your imagination lead the way; there can be excitement in the unknown. A set plan is not necessary.
