For additional insight for my viewers, here is this week's Tarot reading. An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus on the Tarot.
· Mars enters Virgo on Tuesday. While in Leo, Mars was pushier about goal setting and achieving success. In Virgo, Mars calms down somewhat and allows Virgo vibes to be more disciplined in setting goals.
· Friday, June 20, 9:42 CDT: Summer Solstice. Astronomically speaking, the Sun is at its northernmost point in the sky and provides the longest amount of daylight for the year. Traditionally, this is considered the first day of Summer. This is also when the Sun enters Cancer, providing some vitality to the nurturing, home-loving Cancer.
· Sun aligns with Jupiter. Last week Jupiter moved into Cancer and now the Sun is meeting Jupiter. Jupiter loves to expand the enthusiasm and energy of the Sun.

I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck. I found it of particular interest that if the card drawn was not a Major Arcana card [e.g. The Magician], then it was either Cups or Pentacles; no Swords or Wands. Cups and Pentacles represent the “softer” aspects of life.
· Collective card: 7 of Cups [reversed] The card tends to be somewhat “dreamy” in nature, too many options preventing deciding; however, “reversed” suggests taking action on your dreams. This fits so well with the Sun and Jupiter dancing in Cancer. What have you been dreaming of? Now may be an opportune time to seriously explore some of those things you only fantasize about.
· ARIES [the Ram]: 4 of Pentacles Stepping back from chaos may be needed this week for you to feel secure in yourself. It’s okay to use some quiet time to rebuild your energy; that’s not being selfish. It’s called self-preservation.
· TAURUS [the Bull]: The Magician In Tarot terms, the Magician is the ultimate “light” [the Sun?] and represents action [Mars and Jupiter]. A great week to put plans that have been sitting on the back burner into action. Move forward with confidence and discipline.
· GEMINI [the Twins]: Death The Death card signals the moment we give up old habits, old ideas, and allow transformation to a new beginning to take place. Jupiter and the Sun are leaving your house, and no planets are coming into Gemini soon. This allows you time to do some necessary clean-up, clean-out and start something new.
· CANCER [the Crab]: 6 of Pentacles You have been generous recently, whether in money or deed, and you did so because it was the right thing to do. Now with the Sun and Jupiter energy, you may feel somewhat overwhelmed that those you have been generous with are expecting even more. It’s okay to move sideways as the Crab does to sidestep the issue respectfully, and use that nurturing for yourself and your own home.
· LEO [the Lion}: 9 of Cups It’s a great time to have a good time! You work hard and it shows. The Summer Solstice provides the light and energy to enjoy some light-heartedness. The work will still be there, and you will do it better after some downtime.
· VIRGO [the Virgin]: Justice As Mars moves into Virgo and pushes for some defined goals, keep the balance. The past happened the way it was meant to happen; be honest with yourself and learn from it. Now balance your goals with your natural sense of healing and practicality.
· LIBRA [the Scales]: The Lovers This indicates a significant relationship, either intimate or friendly or business. Whatever this relationship, although it may have been rather trying recently, this has been very valuable to you and helped you to discover some new understanding or nuance about life in general. It’s all about harmony.
· SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: The Fool [reversed] Like many words in the English language, definitions change over time. Unlike current meanings, The Fool here represents a sense of innocent adventure and throwing caution to the wind to pursue life to its fullest. Being reversed indicates that perhaps you didn’t follow your instincts and, thus, missed out on an adventure recently that could have been delightful. The Scorpio passion will not let you down though; another adventure awaits.
· SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: 10 of Cups Life is a rainbow filled with love and grace. You love explorations. With Jupiter and the Sun together, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a new experience. Share your love of adventure with those you care about most.
· CAPRICORN [the Mountain Goat]: 8 of Cups Just like a goat, sure-footed, climbing a mountain, the 8 of Cups implies that, although you have had something of an adventure or experience, you feel the need to move on; and you will do so with grace and dignity, committed to discovering what’s on the other side of the mountain.
· AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: 2 of Pentacles There is a happy balance this week. Aquarians enjoy fellowship, community, and being challenged. What unique way could you share the pleasures of life with humanitarian contributions?
· PISCES [the Fish]: 3 of Cups [reversed] This card indicates a joyous occasion, a reason to celebrate with friends and loved ones. The “reversed” warns not to overdo it. As a Pisces, you are intuitive and responsible, and will guide the celebration so that enjoyment is the key; not excess.
When checking the Zodiac signs, I look at not only my Sun sign, but also my Moon sign and my Ascendant to get a fuller picture. If you don't know what those are, email me with your date of birth, exact time and location of birth. I will be happy to forward you a free copy of your natal chart identifying those areas for you. astrologywithann@gmail.com
I’ve also started a blog, Astrology for Beginners, that will post on Thursdays. I’m exploring, in small segments, the basics of astrology for those who want to understand more but don’t want to read books and books or have to study extensively. The first blog explains a natal chart. The next segments individually will cover planets, signs, and houses. Then we’ll explore how they all weave together.
Well done Ann. I look forward to your blog each week. Thanks for sharing your insights.
