“And there will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars.” Luke 21:25
An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus the Tarot. Please remember that astrology aspects are not predictions but merely signposts to help understand the cosmic influences that may affect you.
Saturn and Neptune continue to be conjunct in Aries, one degree apart, and will remain in a close conjunction until mid-April, when they begin to move out of alignment.
For those who may be unaware, Saturn and Neptune are conjunct in various zodiac signs every 35-36 years, but it’s been thousands of years since they have been conjunct in Aries and at the beginning degrees. Saturn is the Lord of Karma [in Tarot, the ruler of the Universe]; is serious, disciplined, authoritative and powers the body. Neptune, on the other hand, is the Ruler of the Seas, who dissolves, blends, spiritualizes, and powers the mind. Aries is all about self-discovery, new beginnings, action, and inspiration. The combination of these three, from my optimistic point of view, is a time for new beginnings after ridding ourselves of what we no longer need in our lives. This conjunction may have been felt for several months as Saturn and Neptune danced back and forth in retrogrades between Pisces and Aries before it released on February 20th and will continue its influence until April. Urges for new goals/new outlooks will certainly be in effect.
Sunday: Venus moved into Aries last week conjunct with Saturn and Neptune, bringing balance to the situation. This Venus addition this week provides much appreciated love, honesty, and clarity to the mix at a time when you may be questioning the level of some commitments. In addition to the Sun being conjunct Mercury in Pisces, you may feel driven to expressing your deepest feelings or a need to share secrets with those close to you. Neptune encourages us to shed what we no longer need, but Aries influence can cause over-assertiveness. So, if you’re considering sharing deep feelings as a way to “let go”, be mindful: Does this need to be said? Does it need to be said by me? Does it need to be said now?
Monday: Mercury retrograde [Pisces] trine Jupiter retrograde [Cancer] until Friday. Your internal vision is to see the big picture this week, not the details. This aspect is philosophical and could lean into that Sun/Mercury drive for shedding deep feelings. However, this aspect also encourages getting your creative juices flowing – writing, journaling, cooking, sculpting - anything that effectively communicates your personal creativity and could well serve as a method for ridding yourself of some of those stirring deep feelings.
Tuesday: Venus in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius. Although peripheral commitments may be in question, you are apt to go all-in on a community or social group project.
Also, Jupiter goes direct [meaning it’s moving forward again]. When planets are in retrograde, they tend to act somewhat differently - maybe a little squirrely; maybe a little lackluster; it depends on the planet – but things seem to be going in reverse. The planet, of course, is not literally going in reverse, but it’s orbital speed slows down and gives the optical illusion from Earth of going backwards. In this case, with Jupiter returning direct in Cancer, you may be exuding nurturance toward others and may even be receiving some serious motherly love.
Wednesday: Last Quarter Moon at 20° Sagittarius. In general, a last quarter moon is urging us to wrap up what we currently have ‘on the table’. Sagittarius asks us to be realistic about what can be finalized and to optimistically prepare for the next adventure.
Thursday: Nothing new in the skies; only what is continuing this week.
Friday: Mars in Pisces conjunct the North Node. Whenever a planet interacts with the North Node, it indicates a life challenge, including a great reward; it represents some form of soul growth. This conjunction is providing strength and determination to allow you to explore the depths of your spirituality and intuition.
Also, the Moon is in opposition to Jupiter. Beware of an urge to over-indulge, whether with food, drink, spending – whatever. Use moderation in all things.
Saturday: Saturn/Neptune in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius. This is a positive period for working with groups/community to cause some necessary change.
In considering all of these planetary aspects, more is revealed when you are aware of which houses these aspects present themselves in your natal chart and the other transits that are affecting your natal chart.

TAROT
I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck. For the Collective card, I chose the Herbal Astrology Oracle Deck [since my herb seeds have started sprouting!]
· Collective card: Mugwort [psychic healing]
With the current strong influence of Neptune [spirituality/intuition] and Pisces [intuition/inner peace/spiritual connections] this week, I’m not surprised by receiving this card! It’s ruled by the Moon and Neptune, and historically was used to ward off evil spirits and dark energy. More importantly, though, consider astrologically where we are -new beginnings [Aries], the drive for positive change [Saturn/Neptune], and the Last Quarter Moon pulling us forward. The Mugwort card is inviting us to look inward and use our intuition and psychic skills to observe what is still in darkness in our lives and strive to release it. Mugwort quote “Oftentimes, the greatest clarity dawns after the darkest hours.”
Interestingly, I drew three of the four Aces in the Tarot deck, all indicating various areas of new beginning, new growth.
· ARIES [the Ram]: Eight of Swords
The Eight of Swords indicates some confusion or hesitancy to move forward. With four planets in Aries this week, it’s no wonder that much energy may be disquieting. Although you may view yourself in a unique situation, others have been in similar situations and survived. You will too. Maybe tuning into a little of that Mugwort energy could provide some enlightenment and balance.
· TAURUS [the Bull]: The Magician
The Magician creates miracles! He’s number one in the Tarot deck and can help guide you through the dreamy state [Neptune/Pisces] that is present this week to inspirational focus or spiritual awareness for all that you hope to achieve. It calls creative force into action, just like Mercury/Jupiter pushing the creativity this week. Taureans, it’s okay to mix up the routine a little this week and let your creativity shine.
· GEMINI [the Twins]: Ace of Pentacles
The astrology is urging new beginnings, new approaches, new inspirations. This Ace is something new in the area of career and finance. You’re being afforded an opportunity for a new job or doing something new in your vocation or some new source of funds. Be open to considering new options. Aces affect us, generally, for a year; so, while the new beginning may not be complete this week, it is coming.
· CANCER [the Crab]: The Moon
In astrology, the Moon rules Cancer; so pulling the Moon card for the Cancer sign is quite powerful energy. In Tarot, the Moon card is ruled by Pisces, which presents strong energy this week as well. The Moon card represents the unknown or hidden fears. What is that niggling fear that you’ve refused to acknowledge? With Mars and the North Node in Pisces this week, it may be wise to step back, slow down, and provide yourself a period of introspection and calm. Pray/meditate.
· LEO [the Lion]: Page of Pentacles
Pages have a student-learning quality. Your enthusiasm for a recently-started project is reward enough. It’s fun and uplifting to do something for the sheer joy it brings. However, this will likely lead to something more beneficial down the line; perhaps, a new avocation or venture. Keep your ears open for when opportunity comes knocking.
· VIRGO [the Virgin]: Page of Cups
As mentioned in Leo, Pages have a student-learning quality. In this case, Virgo, you are urged to invest in actively decreasing your need for perfectionism and to rely more on others. That’s not a bad thing; it’s called helpmates. You are surrounded by many who love you and would be happy to lessen your load. Allow that.
· LIBRA [the Scales]: The World
Saturn, the Ruler of the Universe, aptly rules this card. You possess powerful energy this week to bring balance and harmony to your personal world and share your positive vibes with all those surrounding you. Indulge in some “self time” to connect with your inner spirit through prayer/meditation and acknowledge your achievements, give gratitude, and appreciate the true goodness of life.
· SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: Seven of Wands
The influx of all this week’s energy may be pushing you into an old feeling of abandonment or other childhood issues. Sunday and Monday the Moon is in Scorpio, adding to emotions. Something seems to be bringing you down. This card represents that feeling of being alone against the world; but you’re not really. You are intensely brave. Allow some quiet time, and then push forward in your normal passionate manner.
· SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: Six of Wands
Your energy this week comes mainly from the last quarter Moon in your sign. You manifest balance between your activities and inner self. This likely feels like a victory after some period of feeling out of sorts. Optimism is returning as you brush away the remnants of an unsatisfying project/situation.
· CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: Ace of Cups
As I mentioned before, Aces signify new beginnings. In the case of Cups, it’s all about new loves – whether that’s with another person or falling in love with a new project or just with life itself. This is a time of happiness and joy, with a gift of loving feelings. Share – love is what makes the world go ‘round.
· AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: Ace of Wands
As I have mentioned, Aces indicate new beginnings. With Wands, it’s new actions, doing something out of the ordinary, and a new perspective of going forward. With Pluto currently in Aquarius and for many more years, you may be preparing for a major transformation. What still needs to be cleared away [Neptune] for you to proceed to this regeneration?
· PISCES [the Fish]: Ten of Swords
The Sun, Mercury, and Mars are all in Pisces this week, bringing intense energy. You may have felt a little like being on a roller coaster, but this card signifies that the worst is over and calm is on its way. Select some soothing activity of gentle nature, such as lying on the beach, soaking in a warm bath, or a calming walk on a quiet path. You are highly intuitive right now and your spiritual path feels strong. Soak it in.
