TAROT READINGS FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 14, 2025

An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus the Tarot. Please remember that astrology aspects are not predictions but merely signposts to help understand the astral influences that may affect you.

·        We start the week with Mars at 29° Sagittarius squaring Neptune at 29° Pisces. The 29th degree is called anaretic, meaning a last call or an ending. So, with aggressive Mars challenging spiritual Neptune, this is a period of tuning into your higher self for guidance of what’s trash and what’s treasure as you approach the new year. Clean out and clean up to start fresh in January.

·        On Tuesday, the Sun in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Pisces, encouraging you to determine what boundaries you’ve put in place that may be preventing you from succeeding.

·        On Friday, we have a New Moon at 28° Sagittarius. Sagittarius is playful and adventurous, and  rules expanding horizons, travel, publishing, and horses! What adventure would you like to pursue this next year, and what preparation needs to be done to make it happen?

·        Next Sunday is the Winter Solstice. It’s the point when the Sun is at its southernmost before beginning back north, moving into hard-working Capricorn. December 21st will have the longest period of darkness, with the shortest period of light. In ancient cultures, this was considered an omen, but with today’s science, we know that nature needs that long, dark period of rest before it begins to build for the spring. Just as in nature, humans need the same period of rest.

In considering all of these planetary aspects, more is revealed when you are aware of which houses these aspects occur in your natal chart and the transits in your natal chart.

I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck.

·       Collective card: King of Wands

The King of Wands is passionate about life. Get out and do something you enjoy just because you want to! Enjoy the outdoors. Lead your tribe to a fun time. What a great card to get this week!

·        ARIES [the Ram]: The Moon

The intense movement of the Moon in astrology this week makes this card very special for you, Aries. This is a time of introspection, of rest, of listening to your intuition and your Great Spirit/God. The Moon ultimately brings peace. Give it time and space to do that for you.

·        TAURUS [the Bull]: Six of Swords

Your sense of groundedness seems a little off kilter this week. You may be getting mixed messages or just looking in the wrong direction for answers. Try to stay neutral and don’t push decisions.

·        GEMINI [the Twins]: Nine of Wands

The Nine of Wands is ruled by the Moon in Sagittarius, which is the location of the New Moon this week. You may find yourself caught up in the excitement of a new enterprise and take on more than you are currently capable of. You have great strength but now is not the time to go overboard. Relax and enjoy the moment. There’s plenty of time to build on this new beginning.

·        CANCER [the Crab]: The Magician

This is creative force in action! Inspiration [from the root word ‘Spirit’] is pulling you forward to a new energy. Just as the New Moon this week encourages us to new beginnings, the Magician wholeheartedly supports that. Don’t stop until the miracle happens.

·        LEO [the Lion]: Queen of Cups

Your compassionate nature encourages creative action this week in some emotional area of your life. Even in ‘cloudy’ times, your wisdom shines through. The Winter Solstice may be a perfect time for you to lean into a new approach.

·        VIRGO [the Virgin]: King of Pentacles

The King of Pentacles represents a period of financial stability and forthcoming prosperity. Trust your instincts that Spirit/God will guide you in a direction that will create something that is lasting.

·        LIBRA [the Scales]: Eight of Swords

Although you usually seek balance in all things, this week your indecisiveness is not a familiar situation and is causing confusion for you. Take a hint from the aspects this week and set aside whatever is causing your frustration for now and focus on those things that you are confident you can wrap up.

·        SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: Three of Swords

You are resourceful; so, whatever is currently causing you sorrow, give yourself time to grieve. Then find a way to turn that pain into acceptance and, eventually, into a pleasant memory. Move forward with clarity.

·        SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: Ace of Cups

With the Moon traveling through Sagittarius this week and ending its journey as a New Moon, the Ace of Cups is a very synchronous card. This is a time of new loves for you, whether that be a person, event, or activity. Happiness abounds and follows you into the new year.

·        CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: Five of Swords

As the Winter Solstice Sun brings us into hard-working Capricorn, the Five of Swords encourages time to pause to consider serious bumps that have been encountered on the way and reflect on their negative effect on you. Going forward, as Capricorn is a long-term planner, allow Spirit/God to guide you to more positive thinking.

·        AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: Ace of Swords

Emotionally, something is amiss, and the Ace of Swords is calling you to make a new plan for handling anger and/or disappointment. Meditation/prayer can provide a release of anxiety and help to calmly approach issues.

·        PISCES [the Fish]: Seven of Wands

Saturn has been in Pisces since August and will continue to be in Pisces until Valentine’s. While Pisces can be charitable [the Sign of the Saint], it is also the Sign of the Self-Undoing. This week, Saturn is questioning boundaries, and the Seven of Wands may cause you to feel you are alone against the world. You are not! You are brave; listen only to your higher calling. This too shall pass.

When checking the Zodiac signs, look at not only your Sun sign, but also your Moon sign and Ascendant to get a fuller picture.
