“And there will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars.” Luke 21:25
An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus the Tarot. Please remember that astrology aspects are not predictions but merely signposts to help understand the astral influences that may affect you.
· We have several lingering aspects this week. Remaining: Venus conjuncts the Sun conjuncts Mars. This aspect started Friday, January 2. A conjunction occurs when two luminaries come into alignment. This combined effect encourages you to blend your personal growth and accompanying life changes with affection, balance and positive action. The three are moving through the 21° - 25° Capricorn area on their way to Aquarius. This is an ambitious time to build a solid foundation for the life changes you will face this year. This alignment in Capricorn, who is disciplined and goal-driven, will continue to be the driving force in decision-making through this week.
· Mercury in opposition to Jupiter continues until Friday, causing some tension and restlessness. Jupiter being in Cancer could cause you to be more emotional and sensitive to conflicts. Think before you speak.
· Saturn conjunct Neptune, both at 28° Pisces, have been dancing together through retrogrades and direct movement for many months now, allowing practical intentions along with dreamy creativity. This will continue through February.
· Today, I want to introduce you to Chiron, a much less talked about planet that was first sighted in 1977. It’s known as the Wounded Healer and represents/affects our emotional and physical wounds. I’ve not mentioned aspects of Chiron before now as I didn’t want to overwhelm, but I think now is the time. This week Chiron at 22° Aries squares both Mercury at 22° Capricorn and Mars at 22° Capricorn. These aspects may cause you to temporarily lack belief in yourself and cause you to be more sensitive. This week, face your fears, be kind to yourself [YOU are UNIQUE and WONDERFUL], and although you have healing talents and try to help others, nurture your inner child.
In considering all of these planetary aspects, more is revealed when you are aware of which houses these aspects occur in your natal chart and the transits in your natal chart.

I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck.
· Collective card: Page of Swords and Four of Pentacles
As I shuffled my cards, these two fell out together. This is a week to conserve finances and seek a new perspective on your financial situation. This being a new year, plan a conservative budget. You can always add to as you go along as extra income may become available.
· ARIES [the Ram]: Ten of Pentacles
Mercury rules this card. You may feel some tension with finances this week but consider your overall life situation. Recognize the sheer magic of life. Where do you have abundance? Focus on that; the tension will pass.
· TAURUS [the Bull]: The Fool
Life is an adventure and you are destined to start a new adventure soon. The Venus/Sun/Mars conjunction is speaking to you! Being a Taurean, you enjoy quiet harmony, but sometimes it’s necessary to get out of your shell and experience the mystery of life. Get going!
· GEMINI [the Twins]: Three of Swords
Whatever heartbreak or sorrow you are experiencing currently is not meant to punish but to teach. Recognize that you have a loving heart and you are very adaptable. Meditate or journal to help yourself through this period. You love to learn. Consider this just another of life’s lessons.
· CANCER [the Crab]: The Tower
The Tower is ruled by Mars and is often called the House of God. The Tower generally indicates a sudden change. A situation in your life has likely become intolerable or at the least, just miserable. Being Cancer, you may be taking this too much to heart. Recognize the situation for what it truly is and let it go. You don’t ever deserve to be unhappy.
· LEO [the Lion]: Knight of Wands and Page of Cups
For the second time in this shuffling, I had two cards come up together. You have the energy and self confidence to achieve great success. Fantasize your greatest ambition and make a plan to head in that direction. You are the one who can make it happen.
· VIRGO [the Virgin]: Four of Swords
Virgo, you are an organized, detail-oriented person. Sometimes you can overdo those qualities. Take some time out to rest and think over what’s truly important in your life. Pare that to-do list. You will feel better.
· LIBRA [the Scales]: Judgement
Balance is a tricky thing. Sometimes, Libra, you make snap decisions simply because you want peace and harmony, not because it’s the best solution. This then causes you to judge yourself harshly because the situation didn’t turn out the best. Make your goal now to make decisions consciously. You are a critical thinker.
· SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: Nine of Pentacles
The holidays were strenuous, but they’re over for another year. Take a deep breath. Go at the pace of Nature. Relax and enjoy your luxuries. You’ve earned it.
· SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: Three of Cups
Pay attention to the astrology of Jupiter this week, as Jupiter rules Sagittarius. Interestingly, the Three of Cups indicates an aura of tension and sensitivity, the same as Jupiter in Cancer. Avoid making major decisions and rely on your gut instincts.
· CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: Five of Cups
Capricorns seek solid foundations in all they strive for. This week you may be feeling a little detached or disappointed. That’s not a bad thing. It gives you time to reassess and rebuild for future success. Take this time to ponder.
· AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: The Hierophant
The Hierophant represents spiritual growth and guidance. Aquarius enjoys groups and also reflects your hopes and wishes. This is an excellent week to share your greatest desires with God/Great Spirit/Angels, whoever guides your heart. Seek their wisdom.
· PISCES [the Fish]: Eight of Cups
The Eight of Cups is ruled by Saturn in Pisces. Check this week’s astrology for Saturn. To achieve wisdom, one must put away the ordinary, perhaps the practical, to reach something higher; in this case, greater self-awareness.
