TAROT READINGS FOR WEEK OF DECEMBER 28, 2025

And there will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars.” Luke 21:25

An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus the Tarot. Please remember that astrology aspects are not predictions but merely signposts to help understand the astral influences that may affect you.

·        Tuesday: Mercury squares Saturn. This aspect can feel especially weighty, as a sense of responsibility may seem to press down on you. If you find that voice in your head urging you to ‘work, work, work,’ but your body is saying ‘no, no, no,’ remember to honor what your body needs and recognize that today may not be optimal for long travel or pushing yourself too hard.

·        Thursday: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  As we start a new year, there is a special sense of excitement and possibility in the air. In numerology, this year is considered a "1-year," which symbolizes new beginnings and fresh starts. Astrologically, Mercury squaring Neptune may bring moments of uncertainty, but it also inspires us to turn our dreams into reality. As Mercury moves into Capricorn, the focus shifts to making plans and taking practical steps. Additionally, January is seen as a "2-month"—a time for seeking balance and harmony in our lives. Use this time to reflect on your priorities and allow space for harmony between your ambitions and your well-being. Be prepared for a truly remarkable year!

·        Friday and Saturday: Venus conjuncts the Sun conjuncts Mars. This conjunction creates a powerful blend of energies that seems very prophetic here at the start of the new year. Venus represents the realms of love, financial matters, personal relationships, and a desire for comfort. Its influence encourages harmony and connection, drawing attention to what brings joy and pleasure. The Sun contributes confidence, personal expression, and creativity. Its energy highlights the importance of staying true to yourself and expressing your individuality with confidence. Mars adds action and determination. It motivates decisive movement, empowering you to take charge and pursue transformative changes in your life. So, this combined effect encourages you to blend your personal growth and accompanying life changes with affection, balance and positive action. This might be a great time to create a vision board for the new year. [There are many youTubes on this subject and the Canva website has tips on making a vision board.]

·        Saturday: Full Moon at 13° Cancer. What were you planning or dreaming of in the summer of 2024? If that vision remained, you may be seeing some results now. The Moon rules Cancer, whose energy powers the home, family, nurturance towards self and others, empathy, and intuition. Knowing what house 10 - 16° Cancer is in your natal chart will provide greater insight to the visionary aspects of this Full Moon.

In considering all of these planetary aspects, more is revealed when you are aware of which houses these aspects occur in your natal chart and your personal transits.

I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck. For the collective card, I’m using the Divine Dog Wisdom cards.

THE COLLECTIVE CARD FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY: [I quoted the entire explanation from the book instead of summarizing, because it all seemed relevant, considering the numerology and the astrological conjunctions for the start of our new year.]

ALLOWING “LET IT HAPPEN”: “When you’ve fetched this card, it means there is someone, something, or some event that is wanting to emerge or come into your life – and it’s time you allowed that to happen. At some level, perhaps outside your direct awareness [like frequencies too high for you to hear], a development is about to occur that requires you to open up and trust that this is what’s most needed in your life now.

“Allowing means freeing yourself from the leash of resistance and letting your heart bound toward that which will break it open, meeting it more than halfway so that you can be filled up again. If you’re dog tired of the way things have been and still are, it’s especially important to drop your defenses and take the critical step of allowing new things to unfold. In other words, stop chasing your tail and get out of your own way!

“What is it you need to allow into your life - more abundant finances, greater closeness and intimacy, or opportunities for serving others while serving yourself? Whatever it is, the energy you’re holding around it is the energy that will either push it away or allow it to happen. Allow yourself to expand into a new field of attraction by being attractive, ears up and eyes wide open, expecting the next good thing to come along. It could be even better than you imagined.” Divine Dog Wisdom by Randy Crutcher & Barb Horn

·        ARIES [the Ram]: Three of Cups

Feeling the joy of a close relationship is always something to treasure. However, it seems something or someone is stepping into your path to total happiness. Your goal this week is to identify this block and determine a way around it. You have lots to look forward to this year.

·        TAURUS [the Bull]: Queen of Swords

Although an occasional reminiscence may cause you sorrow, avoid dwelling on it. You have achieved much and learned even more. You are wise beyond your years. Let this new year allow you to continue to move forward, letting the past stay in the past.

·        GEMINI [the Twins]: The Hanging Man

The Collective card may have been speaking directly to you, Gemini! While you always seek balance, this week is a perfect time to allow yourself some quiet time to consider where life is leading you and what you truly want to be able to say you achieved at the end of 2026. Maybe a vision board would help clarify your thoughts.

·        CANCER [the Crab]: Judgement

With the Full Moon coming into Cancer, the card encourages you to stop questioning the likelihood of success and rise to a more meaningful, positive stance. The new year and this card calls for rebirth. Lighten your load. What truly matters is the key.

·        LEO [the Lion}: Four of Swords

It’s time to step back and take a breather. The many plans rolling around in your head need time to gel and clarity. Allow yourself a week of rest before plunging ahead into the new year full of promise and prosperity.

·        VIRGO [the Virgin]: Five of Pentacles

Mercury rules Virgo and this card. Your feelings of never being enough is misleading. You actually want to serve so many in so many ways that it is easy to get overwhelmed;  but in your mind, it’s a lack of effort on your part. Not true. This mimics the astrology of Tuesday. Don’t listen to your mind; listen to your heart and body. You are enough.

·        LIBRA [the Scales]: King of Swords

While you naturally pursue harmony and balance, the King of Swords is inspiring you to seek clarity within those confines to determine what is in your best interests, since you tend to focus on others’ needs. You must look after yourself properly to be able to be there for your family and companions.

·        SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: The Hermit

With the New Year upon us, the Hermit signifies a sense of deliberate purpose in withdrawing from the crowd to work on self-development. Your maturity and acknowledging what really matters in your life is what will move you toward your future goals this year.

·        SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: Page of Swords

This card must be aware of the new year and your love of broadening your horizons. The Page of Swords is calling for a new perspective. There is no point in feeling bound in battle with issues that truly are not relevant. Seek the high ground and listen to your instincts.

·        CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: King of Pentacles

This card echoes the themes of Capricorn: discipline, creating lasting goals for success, and ambition. Trust yourself that you are creating a future bound in prosperity. You are sensible in your hard work, which may not make you wealthy to the extreme but will always give you financial stability.

·        AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: The Hierophant

The Hierophant, who strives to provide society with a personal awareness of God, works well with Aquarius, the humanitarian. Seek balance in the opposing poles of your life – work, family/home, and spirituality. This is your task in the New Year.

·        PISCES [the Fish]: The World

It is noteworthy that the last sign of the Zodiac received the last card in the Tarot as we start into the New Year! The World card represents the ultimate understanding that leads to freedom of the soul. It’s the Dance of Life – celebrating achievement and satisfaction with a life lived thus far and a knowledge that the future holds so much more success.

When checking the Zodiac signs, look at not only your Sun sign, but also your Moon sign and Ascendant to get a fuller picture.
