"And there will be signs in the Sun and the Moon and the Stars." Luke 21:25
An overview of major astrology transits for this week helps focus the Tarot. Please remember that astrology aspects are not predictions but merely signposts to help understand the astral influences that may affect you.
· On Sunday a First Quarter Moon at 6° Taurus indicates an emotional or spiritual turning point. The moon is a nurturing and compassionate luminary; and in Taurus, is more grounded and easy-going, urging you to look inward for answers and guidance.
· I don’t usually mention the movement of the Moon except for major influences because the Moon moves so rapidly. For example, on Sunday, the Moon is in Taurus, creating the First Quarter Moon because of it squaring the Sun. By Tuesday, the Moon will be in Gemini, which is a very good-natured sign. On Thursday, the Moon moves to Cancer, generating nurturing and family-oriented compassion, but beware of overindulgences. On Saturday, the Moon will move into Leo, who chooses to be cheerful and optimistic.
· Also on Sunday, Mercury is conjunct Venus at 10°-11° Aquarius and will be exact on Wednesday, continuing its conjunction until next Sunday. Mercury rules your thoughts; Venus, your heart. This will be a forgiving and empathetic time, although you may tend to overanalyze not only others but your own actions.
· On Tuesday Neptune enters Aries. Neptune and Saturn have been dancing closely back and forth retrogrades. Neptune is finally entering Aries for a continuous forward movement. Saturn will enter Aries in mid-February and the two will be in exact conjunction on February 20. We have felt the effects of this rollercoaster for a few months now with feelings of restlessness and anxiety to feelings of spirituality and healing. Neptune’s movement through the entire zodiac cycle takes about 165 years; so, Neptune arriving in Aries is a significant shift for society, not just individually. Because Neptune moves so slowly, about 12-15 years per sign, it tends to affect generationally; so, society has been experiencing unrest and now is moving into a new perspective, from dreamy, emotional Pisces to assertive, energetic Aries. What illusions or deceptions has our society experienced that may be coming to an end? Neptune in Aries influences that redirection.
· Also on Tuesday, aggressively motivated Mars is conjunct volcanic Pluto at 3° Aquarius, who represent groups. This conjunction implies power struggles. Pluto also is a slow-moving planet taking about 248 years to complete a full orbit of the zodiac. Again, the influence of Pluto is more generational.
In considering all of these planetary aspects, more is revealed when you are aware of which houses these aspects occur in your natal chart and the transits in your natal chart.

I always take a few moments of quiet to center myself, take a few deep breaths, and listen to intuition coming forth as I shuffle the cards. For the Zodiac signs this week, I'm using the traditional Rider-Waite deck.
· Collective card: Judgement
The Judgement card represents the Angels guiding us in our lives. This is a call to rebirth, to lighten our load, to discard those worries that weigh us down. Avoid overanalyzing or judging others OR yourself. This is very connected to the astrology this week.
· ARIES [the Ram]: Three of Cups
There may be unwanted company/situations in your life currently, and it may be creating too many memories that are affecting your balance. Being an Aries, ruled by Mars, you may feel the need to be assertive and take action, but don’t over-react. Remember, life is meant to be an enjoyable experience.
· TAURUS [the Bull]: Ace of Swords
The Ace of Swords urges you to take a new perspective. Taureans tend to be introspective. The First Quarter Moon is speaking to you. Look inward to consider what you really and truly want out of life.
· GEMINI [the Twins]: Queen of Cups
Gemini is known for their creativity and quick-witted sense of humor. Blend that with your compassion this week and acknowledge your unconditional love to those you care about most in a conventional way. They will thrive on it.
· CANCER [the Crab]: The Devil
The Devil card is influenced by Capricorn, which is opposite Cancer on the Zodiac wheel. So, while this card would generally indicate materialism and a temptation to overindulge, the Cancer traits will lead to being more nurturing than materialistic and more likely to “mother” those who may want to indulge. It’s simply your nature.
· LEO [the Lion]: Two of Cups
This week you may be feeling more joyful and harmonious than usual, particularly next weekend, and there’s nothing wrong with that! A close relationship, one where you balance each other, can contribute to these happy feelings.
· VIRGO [the Virgin]: Five of Cups
You are likely grieving in some way, or maybe it’s simply disappointment. Either way, this week may be a good time to detach from the daily rush and appreciate all that is going well in your world. Although some situation is not going as you expected, remember that you are not in charge and everything is happening as it should.
· LIBRA [the Scales]: Seven of Pentacles
Saturn influences the Seven of Pentacles, and as such, you may be expecting that strict discipline is the only way to achieve the harmony that you desire. However, have patience and watch as what you have built is now able to progress on its own without the need for your constant supervision.
· SCORPIO [the Scorpion]: Two of Swords
Some decisions are very difficult to make. You are likely experiencing one of those times. It may be that you will need to seek help from someone who seeks something in return or that there is no really favorable solution. Every decision has pros and cons. Choose the most likely to do the least harm.
· SAGITTARIUS [the Archer]: King of Pentacles
A sensible outlook on life, a feeling of being financially stable, and trusting yourself are all in the works this week. Sagittarians are always working their way to the pinnacle; so, you should be feeling very satisfied this week.
· CAPRICORN [the Sea-Goat]: Temperance
Although Capricorns are known to be steadfast and hard-working, try for balance between work and play this week. Try taking life as it comes this week without a strict schedule and trying to control. Avoid over-doing. It makes life so much easier.
· AQUARIUS [the Water Bearer]: Five of Wands
With Mercury conjunct Venus in Aquarius this week, you are likely struggling with something that should be more of a friendly competition than a battle. Lighten up. Consider it a challenge to accomplish and you can succeed.
· PISCES [the Fish]: Page of Swords
Feeling a little embattled, you could consider taking the high ground. Detach yourself from the melee and look forward to steadier times. Listen to your intuition and you can’t go wrong.
